Dr. Farouk El-Baz

Dr. Farouk El-Baz is a world-renowned Egyptian-American scientist who worked with NASA on scientific exploration of the moon, including the selection of landing sites for the Apollo missions and the training of astronauts in lunar observation.
In addition to being Research Professor and Director of the Center for Remote Sensing at Boston University, Massachusetts, Dr. El-Baz is Adjunct Professor of Geology at the Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University, Cairo. He is also on the Board of Trustees of the Geological Society of America Foundation and is a member of myriad global scientific institutions.
He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards including the Golden Door Award of the International Institute of Boston; the Nevada Medal of the Desert Research Institute; and the Pioneer Award of the Arab Thought Foundation. Dr. El-Baz is widely considered to be the pre-eminent scholar of his generation in the study of desert formation
Dr. El Baz earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Ain Shams University, his Masters and PHD degrees in Geology from Missouri University. He has a Doctors in Law Degree from American University of Cairo and Honorary Doctor of Science and Honorary Doctor of Engineering

Mohammed had a 30 year career with Citigroup in Bahrain, London and the UAE. Farid Mohammed Ahmed plays an important role in the continued development of Dubai. He is Secretary General of Dubai World, the holding company of such business pillars as DP World, Economic Zones World, Drydocks World, Dubai Maritime City and Istithmar World. Prior to joining Dubai World, Farid was Senior General Manager, UAE Operations, at Ducab where he was the key driver of the company’s local and international growth. Farid is also an enthusiastic promoter of Quality and the Environment. He is one of the founding members and former chairman of Dubai Quality Group and remains a permanent Member of the Board in an advisory capacity.
